If you’ve followed my frozen drink experiments, you already know how much I loved the original Ninja SLUSHi. It nailed that perfect balance between icy and smooth, no ice cubes required. But even with how well it performed, it always seemed like there was room for a model that could handle a little more — more volume, more consistency, more party.
That’s where the Ninja SLUSHi Max (FS605) comes in. It takes everything the original did well and scales it up in smart ways.
1. Bigger Capacity
The most noticeable change is the size. The original SLUSHi could make about 88 ounces — great for a few people but not ideal when hosting. The new Max model jumps to a 150-ounce capacity, meaning one large batch instead of multiple smaller ones. For anyone who’s ever had to pause mid-party to make round two, that extra capacity sounds like a real improvement.
2. Improved Consistency
The Max is designed to manage texture across different types of mixes more effectively. The original could sometimes freeze unevenly with very sweet or very low-sugar bases. The updated ingredient-sensing technology reportedly adjusts more precisely, helping slushies stay uniform from top to bottom even in a large batch.
3. Higher Alcohol Levels in Drinks
Another small but meaningful upgrade: the Max appears to handle boozy mixes a bit better. The first SLUSHi could struggle with stronger cocktails, freezing unevenly if the alcohol content was too high. The new version seems more capable of balancing those ratios — able to take on slightly higher-ABV drinks (20% vs. 16% on the older model) as long as there’s enough sugar or mixer in the base. Think margaritas, sangrias, or frosé that actually stay slushy instead of separating.
4. More Efficient Freezing
Freezing time also seems improved. The original sometimes took a while to reach that perfect slush texture, especially with dense mixtures. The Max is advertised to cool more evenly and reaches slush consistency faster, likely thanks to a refined cooling system.
5. Still the Same Core Concept — Just Refined
What hasn’t changed is what made the SLUSHi so appealing in the first place. It still freezes without ice, still lets you control texture, and still keeps the mix cold for hours. The concept remains the same — just scaled up for bigger gatherings and heavier use.

Final Thoughts
For anyone who loved the original SLUSHi but found themselves running multiple batches or chasing a more consistent texture, the Ninja SLUSHi Max looks like the natural next step. It doesn’t reinvent what made the first one special — it simply builds on it, adding more capacity and refinement where it counts.
I have already ordered mine and I’ll be sure to post a detailed review here once it arrives.
